2014 AGM

Please join us at 19:00 on Thursday 5th June at the Salvation Army Hall on Market Street, Hexham for our 2014 AGM.

Following this at 19:30 we will be hosting a free talk by Andie Harris of the North of England Civic Trust.

‘This Old House’

Join HCS and Andie Harris of the North of England Civic Trust for a talk on traditional buildings and how to keep them heated, healthy and happy. Andie will tell us how pre-twentieth century buildings can be best maintained and what measures can be taken to sensitively upgrade and improve them while keeping their special character.

It is expected that Andie’s talk will be about one hour and refreshments will be served. Members and non-members welcome. No prior booking required.

This is to remind you that the 2013 AGM will be at 6.30, Monday 24 June, in the Queen’s Hall Auditorium.

We had planned on using the White Room as announced in posters etc already around the town but this is now required by QHA for another purpose.

The AGM will be followed at 7.30 by a talk “Hexham & the History of Railways in the North East” by Bill Fawcett whose book on the Newcastle to Carlisle railway is available at Cogito books.

The talk is also in the auditorium so we expect the AGM to be reasonably brief focussing on reports from the Chairman and Treasurer and on election of officers. All current officers are willing to stand again, with the exception of Karen Liddle, and we will be pleased to receive any additional nominations.

The AGM and talk present opportunities for formal and informal discussions between members and the committee so we look forward to seeing you all there using these opportunities.

We hope to see you there.
